Ken passed peacefully from this world on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, with his wife and family by his side.

Ken was born Feb. 8, 1948, to Solomon and Elsie Lackman. He grew up and helped farm with his family west of Billings. He graduated from Billings West High School in 1966. In high school, he was on the wrestling team and took first place in the state wrestling meet.

In 1969, he married Annegret Ruenzel. They lived and worked the farm for several years. They divorced in 1989.

After leaving the farm Ken began a new journey into the world of sales. After just three months of employment with Gourmet Awards Food Company Ken was promoted as their district manager for the state of Montana.

Ken's devoted faith in God guided him throughout his life.

In 2007, Ken met the true love of his life, Judy. They were married in September of 2008. The two of them were so perfectly matched. They adored one another.

Singing was one of Ken's greatest pleasures. He was a member of the local Barber Shop singers. His wonderful tenor voice was enjoyed by all who had the privilege of listening to him sing. His love of music brought him to ballroom dancing. There he was in yet another of his favored elements.

His warm easy smile and gracious manners endeared him to his family and all his friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gloria, and niece Teresa. He is survived by his sisters Joanne and Patty and brother Wayne (Vickie), four nieces and four nephews. Also surviving are his three step sons, Steve (Dulcey), Michael (Wendy), and Craig (Shannon), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at Smith's downtown funeral chapel at 925 S. 27th St. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 1 p.m.

We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people at RiverStone Healthcare and Riverstone Hospice House. Memorials may be directed to RiverStone Hospice House.
