TERRY R. OHLHAUSER

Terry R. Ohlhauser, 58, a longtime resident of Patton Valley in Gaston, Oregon died Monday evening, May 22, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland, Oregon due to complications from exposure to Agent Orange. 
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 S.E. Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, Oregon, under the direction of the United States Navy.
TERRY RAY OHLHAUSER was born on August 25, 1947 in Huron, South Dakota, the son of the late Raymond Martin Ohlhauser and the late Bertha (Gross) Ohlhauser. He was raised and received his education in Billings, Montana. later moving with his family to Laurel, Montana where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1966. He joined the United States Navy on August 30, 1966 at Billings, Montana. Terry served for three years until receiving his discharge on January 15, 1969 at Bremerton, Oregon. He was a recipient of several medals including the Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Following his discharge he attended Oregon State University and Lane Community College, majoring in Respiratory Therapy.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn Fischer on November 26, 1971 in Reno, Nevada. They celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary this past November. Following their marriage they resided in several communities in Washington, Oregon and New Mexico, returning to Oregon in 1975, settling in the Portland area. In 1978 they moved to their present home in Gaston, where they have resided for nearly thirty years.
Terry worked as a Respiratory Therapist in the healthcare industry. He also had owned and operated his own business M.E.D.S. for ten years. 
Among his special interests he enjoyed traveling, fishing and sports, especially baseball, besides being an avid Oregon State University Beaver Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Terry is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Ohlhauser, of the family home in Gaston, Oregon; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Kreig Maplethorpe and their children Connor and Terren of Gaston, Oregon; his son, Conrad T. Ohlhauser, of Gaston, Oregon; his honorary children and grandchildren, Rhonda and Brad and their children, Kohl, Tucker, Megan and Kylee, all of Gaston; and J.J. and Mark Shanbeck, and their children, April and Andrew, all of Beaverton, Oregon ; his three sisters and a brother-in-law, Shari Loch, of Bend, Oregon; Gayla Gray, of Phoenix, Arizona; and Carla and Tim Robertson, of Hillsboro, Oregon.; his aunt, Virginia Hitchrick, of West Linn, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to Wellness Within Chiropractic Clinic for his son, Conrads' Special Olympic Team, c/o any Key Bank Branch. .
