Carol House, 55, of Billings, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at her home after a four-month battle with cancer.

The daughter of Clyde and Dorothy Young, Carol was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Scottsbluff, Neb. She grew up in Adams, Neb., and after the family moved to Billings, Carol graduated from Billings West High School.

Carol married Duane House in 1967 and they moved to Denver, where their daughter Lisa was born in 1969. In 1970, the family returned to Billings. In 1975, they adopted their daughter Melissa.

Carol was involved in Real Estate and Mortgage Banking in Billings for over 20 years. She was involved in league volleyball for many years and a member of Financial Women International and MBAW. Carol was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was involved in the communion ministry.

She enjoyed travel, gardening and decorating. She had a job she loved at First Interstate Bank and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Most of all, Carol enjoyed time spent with her granddaughter, Emilee, who called her "Nona."

 

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa House of Littleton, Colo., and Melissa House and granddaughter, Emilee of Billings; her parents, Clyde and Dorothy Young of Billings; her brother, Jim Young, and his wife, Carol of Adams, Neb., and their children Natalie, Jamison, and John. Also surviving are Duane House of Billings and many dear friends including Marylynne Arthun of Billings and Ray Johnson of Cody, Wyo..

 

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 6, at Grace United Methodist Church.
